With yesterday’s loss the Titans playoff hopes become a mere glimmer on a distant football horizon. Fortunately LP Field has already been named a winner of sorts.
In November,
Sports Illustrated’s online edition (
SI.com) released the results of a massive survey of 17,000 NFL fans rating the “
fan value experience” at stadiums around the league. The survey is an extremely informative, often funny,
Zagat’s-like read that scores every aspect of NFL stadiums from tailgating to atmosphere, to neighborhood to fans and food.
LP Field came in at number nine, right behind the
RCA Dome, home of the Colts.
I found the rating with its descriptions of “ginormous turkey legs for $6" and “unfavorable, apples-and-oranges comparisons with the area's entrenched, all-encompassing college-football culture” to be just about right for LP.
Check out the survey yourself and let us know if you see it the same way.
