A Paul Ney Return to Nashville?

It looks like Paul Ney, a former law partner at Trauger & Tuke (once Trauger Ney & Tuke) and GOP operative who's been toiling in Washington, D.C., as a general counsel at the federal Defense Department, may be returning to Nashville to head the Mayor's Office of Economic & Community Development, the job Tom Jurkovich recently left. A recent call into Ney (a former running buddy of mine, I should note) has so far gone unanswered—federal appointees have shit to do, after all—but reliable sources tell the Scene that the deal is being formally discussed. Ney would be a natural for this gig, as it's mostly about relationships, which he has in spades. Paul, call me back or I'll post a compromising picture of you with sweaty pits and wearing running tights. UPDATE: I couldn't help myself. The photo above is Ney after a 1998 training run in Dublin, Ireland, where he completed a marathon in 4 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds, just making his under-5-hour goal.

WTF? I didn't vote for a "Democractic" mayor to have GOP DoD hacks put in charge of Community Development. Say hello to more strip malls!
Bah.

Listen honey, both parties are twisted.
You just have to vote for the ones
with a decent voting record, and GREAT
character.
Let's go shopping!

Ney is the best thing for the City. Only good will come out of his work.
