Set the TiVo for 5 a.m. Monday, as our own Bruce Barry will be the center of attention on C-SPAN2's Book TV. He'll discuss his new book Speechless: The Erosion of Free Expression in the American Workplace, mixing the left with hard rights in a manner more befitting to ESPN. Be sure to check the Amazon ranking after Monday.

UPDATE: The show will actually air 4 a.m. CST Monday. In the old days, that would have made him a great lead-in to Farm Digest with F. Murray Miles.

Thanks for the plug, but I believe it's 5 am ET, so 4 am local time. Prime time!

I predict the highest ratings ever for the 4 am hour of C-SPAN2's Book TV. Bruuuuuce!

W is an early riser. Maybe as he's channel surfing he'll watch Bruce for a while before eventually moving on to Bugs Bunny.

My apologies, Bruce. That's what I get for checking the website. Will change.

I am sure Bruce will perform as admirably under pressure as the Mets.

Farm Digest - a blast from the past! A quick correction: the show was hosted by Murray T. Miles, Jr. - he's my uncle. My brothers and I used to enjoy watching him as the early morning appetizer to the cartoons that would follow...

D'oh! My apologies to Mr. Miles, and thanks for correcting the record.

By the way, I really miss that swinging version of "The Farmer in the Dell" he used as theme music.
