At noon tomorrow, the Belcourt kicks off its month-long matinee tribute to Jean-Luc Godard with his whirling 1964 riff on American pulp fiction, Band of Outsiders. (This piece came out after the film was re-released in 2001.) Here's the scene that hit me like the birth of the cool the first time I ever saw it: the oft-copied "Madison" line dance with Anna Karina, Claude Brasseur and Sami Frey.
