The notorious Earnest Fred Brown—or "Fast Fred" as he's better known in East Nashville—is back behind bars, much to the delight of his neighbors. Brown was arrested on Sunday and charged with burglary, theft and trespassing for allegedly stealing a bicycle and a chainsaw from a shed in Hermitage, and then breaking into a vehicle in the same neighborhood.
Brown, 25, has a long rap sheet that includes burglaries, thefts and assaults, and when he recently returned to his home on Boscobel Street after serving three years in prison, neighbors were none too pleased. There was frequent chatter on the East Nashville Crime listserv regarding Fast Fred's whereabouts, whether he was loitering in front of the corner market or seen skulking through someone's back yard.
Given Brown was on parole when he was arrested earlier this week, he likely won't return to his little house on Boscobel for quite some time.
