Grand "Ole" Opera

New York Times critic Tony Tommasini got a sneak peek at scenes from Elmer Gantry, the Robert Aldridge-Herschel Garfein opera that receives its world premiere performance in Nashville next November. Tommasini calls the opera an "unabashedly populist piece" that's "a little too eager to please." Sounds like the perfect piece for Nashville Opera.
