Festival Update

Posted By on Wed, Apr 25, 2007 at 5:15 PM

Bad news for Beau Bridges fans: the actor has canceled his appearance at tomorrow night's world premiere of Americanizing Shelley, the closing-night gala feature at the Nashville Film Festival. Good news for fans of Dub Cornett and Orson Welles: the NaFF has added afternoon screenings tomorrow of Cornett's The True Adventures of the Real Beverly Hillbillys (4:30 p.m.) and the Welles doc Searching for Orson (4:45 p.m.).

Also added tomorrow night: screenings of NaFF faves Kenny (9:30 p.m.) and the well-received Rob Thomas doc My Secret Record (10 p.m.), which may look different without the opening-night throng of shrieking fans.

There's still time to catch tonight's screenings of Pedro Costa's Colossal Youth (6:30 p.m.); the Darfur doc The Devil Came on Horseback, with a post-film reception hosted by Big Kenny of Big & Rich (6:45 p.m.); the colorful Argentine music doc El Ultimo Bandoneon (7 p.m.); and Craig Zobel's song-sharking comedy-drama Great World of Sound (9:15 p.m.).

In the meantime, check out this IndieWire dispatch from visitor Steve Ramos, who hit the ground running. The NaFF definitely seems to be getting more press attention this year.
