Yesterday a Springfield man was killed as he tried to beat a freight train
at a railroad crossing. Perhaps if he had seen this video
of a commuter getting mowed down by an express train he would have thought better of the attempt.
The video was produced by New York's Metropolitan Transportation Authority and posted on its website to discourage suburban commuters from crossing the tracks when they shouldn't be. One Bronx, N.Y., parent who watched the video called it "gross," "sick" and "scary," according to the New York Daily News. The train and its victim are not real, but they sure look it.
Some 350 people are killed annually as they try to cross train tracks in the U.S., says the News.
