This Just In

Debra Grimes, while perhaps too introverted for someone seeking a political post, was regarded as one reason to be optimistic as the 2007 at-large Metro Council races approach. But the good batch just got one smaller.

(Nashville, TN) January 22, 2007 - Debra Grimes announced today that she is no longer seeking an At Large seat with Metro City Council. Due to recent successes and growth in her business, Management Solutions Group based in Nashville, Grimes has made the decision to withdraw from the campaign. "This was a very difficult decision for me," says Grimes, "I have a strong commitment to this community and was very excited about the possibility of serving as a council member, however due to the recent growth of my business I do not feel I have the time and energy needed to succeed in both of these endeavors." Grimes has not ruled out running again in four years and thanks her campaign team and the public who have supported her over the last 18 months. Grimes will return all unused funds to her contributors.
