OK, so forget the elections for a minute. I remember Tony LaRussa when he was managing the AA Knox Sox, fresh out of law school at the University of Florida, taking long bus rides with a bunch of marginal players from one Palooka-ville to another. Made you wonder why he was doing it. There's something about the spell baseball casts, I guess. Well now Tony has made it all the way to the top again, out of the dark and dingy dugout at Bill Meyer Stadium (now demolished) and into crowds of 50,000 instead of 200. I backed the Tigers, but kudos to the Cards.
