lions and tigers and scares, oh my

Problem: You love going to Halloween haunted houses, but you can't exactly take the kids to a chainsaw maze or a dungeon full of severed limbs. Solution: Zoo Ghouls at Grassmere, the Nashville Zoo's annual creepfest for tots, which runs this weekend and next from 5 to 9 p.m. Take the little goblins down a winding trail lined with games, animal exhibits and treat stations, with bonus attractions such as tractor rides, campfire stories and a backward black-light ride aboard the Zoo's Carousel. It's spooky fun that won't make your kids bolt upright screaming at 2 a.m.

Here's a Fun-Size Snickers from our own online treat station: the Onion AV Club's list of 13 seriously scary album covers. They left out this one.
