On Saturday, 9/30, there's a lot of fun to be had in Leiper's Fork:
Marty Hunt's grand finale antique auction—everything left over from the old Leiper's Fork Antiques which she closed earlier this year will be sold. Much furniture from the 1840s forward, as well as oddments of every kind, like an Amish pie cooling rack, rolls for an old cylinder music player, and all sorts of architectural pieces. If you've never been to an antique auction, you owe it to yourself to go. This will be a BIG event.
At 4:30 the "Men of the Fork" will perform their songs. They include Elvis sideman Reggie Young, blues rocker Pat McLaughlin, and a raft of famous songwriters.
At noon, there will be a gathering of yellow dogs, otherwise known as the Williamson County Democratic Party, at the home of John and Lucy Gibson at the corner of Southhall Road and Carl Road. There aren't many of them—this is the richest county in the state, after all—but they'll all be there dedicated to stopping George Bush from doing any further harm to the country.
It's all free. Food is available. Bring a chair.
