Symphonic Booms

Posted By on Thu, Jun 8, 2006 at 1:43 PM

Can you feel the harmony downtown? That sound you heard the other night was a shotgun firing blanks from the roof of the new $120 million symphony hall—three feet away from the windows. The sounds were much louder than any fireworks the Nashville Sounds might shoot off when the franchise's new downtown stadium is complete, and the booms were inaudible inside the hall. So, a group hug everyone. Baseball, complete with fireworks, and classical music will peacefully coexist. This editor's ranting demagoguery a few weeks ago was, in addition to being widely called down, also utterly unnecessary. You can't, uh, hit it out of the park every time.
