I still have a hard time believing this movie is 20 years old. It seems as fresh as a bruise; as somebody once said of Jean Eustache's The Mother and the Whore
, it's either a radical work of conservative art, or a conservative work of radical art. And I'll be watching it tonight at the same place I first saw it 20 years ago, at the Belcourt—where rumor has it they've laid in a massive stock of PBR.
