I picked up the January 05 edition of the Xtra-Glossy
Sports Nashville yesterday and thumbed through it. You'd think it would get better after a while. Guess not. A few initial observations:
1. Governor Bredesen is on the cover adorned with local sports bric-a-brac...Titans...Music City Bowl...marathon...and...a hockey stick. That's it...just a hockey stick...no Predators mention anywhere. maybe it's because they are on strike (or lock-out...whatever).
2. The table of contents spells the name of one the article columnists, Pete Weber, "Pete Webber," even though one of the editors of the mag, Blake Fulton, is Weber's seatmate on the WTN's SportsNight show.
3. There is an article about the Titans cheerleaders, addressing the "myths" that surround them. It is written by Lee Anne Carmack. One of the "myths," and I'm really not making this up, is: Titans Cheerleaders have great lungs fron all that cheering."
Oh, and the title of the article is: "Bustin' It."
4. The title of Fulton's profile of WSMV's Rudy Kalis is: "Rudy Kalis: 30 Years of Sweaters".
Oh well, what can you expect from a free publication? Oh, wait a minute....
