Last we heard from coed local rock 'n' roll duo Mystery Twins — an outfit featuring one-half of The Clutters that we've spoken about a time or two — it was when we caught the news that their tune "The River" is featured in Third Man Records' recently released Language Lessons Volume I, "a hardbound book of contemporary poetry and prose, two vinyl LPs of jazz, psychedelic-punk, poetry, blues and pop, and five pieces of hangable art all housed in a hard-case clothbound sleeve." But that wasn't all the Twins had up their sleeves. Above you can see their brand-new video for "Ghost," a tune from last year's Ghost in the Ground. The suitably spooky and ethereal black-and-white clip was directed by the Twins' own Doug Lehmann, with art direction by local clothier Leslie Stephens. "Most of the camera exposures are one to two seconds long," says Lehmann of the vid's visual effects. "It's really a combination of long exposure and time-lapse photography."
As mentioned in my colleague Stephen "Goose" Trageser's post earlier today, Mystery Twins will release a cassette by the name of I'm Not Like Everybody Else on Cassette Store Day, which goes down Sept. 27. Anyway, give the "Ghost" video a look above, and stream or purchase Mystery Twins' Ghost in the Ground via their Bandcamp page.
