Oh no. For the first time in a long time, someone has agreed to let Party Cannon have its way with a music venue/performance space/warehouse. Famously banned from pretty much every venue in town, the anarchist pranksters in Party Cannon are known for shotgunning beers, setting off fireworks and being Kesha’s favorite band — or at least they were when she was still sporting the dollar sign. For this rare occasion, the Cannoneers take over The Packing Plant during the Wedgewood-Houston art crawl, promising a “3-D Multi Media PARTY CANNON Artistic Manifestation” that combines hand-curated art and a performance from the reanimated party-punk band. Expect the unexpected. (The unexpected is cheap firecrackers and maybe a small fire.) For more arty options for this weekend’s crawl, read Joe Nolan’s Crawl Space column.
Party Cannon's show Saturday at The Packing Plant is free and starts at 9 p.m. See the "TOTALLY SANCTIONED EVENT IN A DESIGNATED SPACE SERIOUSLY LEGITIMATE ART SHOW" Facebook event page here, and click through to the other side of the jump for video evidence of some of Party Cannon's past hooliganry.
