Well, they said they weren't going to play their breakthrough hit "Doses and Mimosas" — the video for which, by the way, has over 3 million views — and they didn't. Nashville's own grimy, funky electro duo Cherub made their television debut last night on Conan, where they played a cut from last month's major-label debut, Year of the Caprese. The song in question is called "<3," and you can watch the performance above.
How should we pronounce "<3"? Is it "Love"? "Less Than Three"? "Heart"?* Good thing we only have to write it, not say it. Anyway, the song itself is a slippery, vaguely Prince-y tale of romantic retribution. Also, stay tuned until the end of the performance, when Cherub member Jason Huber goes to hug Conan and ... well, you'll see. Purchase Year of the Caprese here, and see all of C-rub's upcoming tour dates here.
* I'm pretty certain it's "Heart," given the chorus.
