Fifth Annual Bonnaroo Bingo

The time has once again come. In roughly 24 hours, the 13th installment of Middle Tennessee's annual music festival and gathering of the freaks, Bonnaroo, will commence in Manchester, Tenn. Tomorrow's dead-tree edition of the Scene will feature not only our interview with Nashville denizen and 'Roo headliner Jack White, but also our extensive Bonnaroo field guide. But I couldn't wait until the issue drops to share this with you.

One of my very favorite parts of each year's 'Roo issue is Bonnaroo Bingo. This year's card (our fifth installment, which you can see above or check out as a PDF here) was illustrated by Molly Brooks. As you'll see, we've swapped in some new action this year. Gone is the Macklemore hair of last year's Bonnaroo Bingo card, the Skrillex hair of 2012 and the vuvuzela of 2011, but new action includes fake Third Man employees (you know some fool is going to be walking around in a black suit and yellow tie for no good reason), Godzilla (I'm guessing someone will have a 'Zilla suit, or at least an inflatable version of the monster) and Mrs. Kanye West herself (I doubt, if she's even there, she'd slum it by being visible to the proletariat, but you never know).

If you're down in Manchester this week, take photos of any of the Bonnaroo Bingo items that you spot and post them to Instagram, Facebook or Twitter. Make sure your posts are public, and tag them with the hashtag #BonnarooBingo and our two Twitter handles, @NashvilleScene and @NashvilleCream. And stay tuned here to the Cream, where we'll be checking in with regular updates, recaps and photos!
