D. Striker's 'Country Dance Off'; Catch His RR Party June 13 at The 5 Spot [Fresh Vid]

'Round these parts, local country-music satirist D. Striker needs little introduction. Since 1998, he's been releasing his zine RR every Friday the 13th, celebrating by playing a show studded with local folk, country and indie-rock talent. Today, word comes our way that Striker will soon release a record by the name of Come Over Here, and ... oh hey, what's that in the distance? If I'm not mistaken, it's another Friday the 13th — June 13, to be precise, and the only Friday the 13th of 2014.

Above you can see the Megan Sanders-shot video for the Come Over Here track "Country Dance Off." In it, my fellow "D"-utilizing initial-lover visits Opryland Hotel. "The video loosely recreates the story of Striker’s first visit to the 2014 Country Dance World Championship," Striker tells us, speaking in the third-person. "He crashed the after-party and got invited to the dance floor only to bonk his partner in the teeth when attempting to twirl her." Give the video a look. Seriously, no foolin': Some of Striker's moves are genuinely impressive.

Striker's RR Party will take place Friday, June 13, at The 5 Spot, and he'll share the bill with fellow locals Justin and the Cosmics and Loney John Hutchins.
