The Black Keys to Play Private Show for SiriusXM Listeners May 27 at Mercy Lounge

Well, if you're a SiriusXM subscriber who happens to like The Black Keys and lives in Nashville (or doesn't mind a bit of driving), hold onto your hat, socks or whatever you think might be blown off by good news: The band has just announced that they'll play a private show May 27 at Mercy Lounge, and Sirius listeners are invited.

SiriusXM — which hosts Keys drummer Patrick Carney's Serious Boredom program on its SiriusXMU channel — announced this morning that subscribers can enter to win access to the show via this link, and that the performance will air live (at 7 p.m. Central) on SiriusXM’s Alt Nation channel. One entrant will also win round-trip airfare, a free hotel stay and a "chance to meet the band" (although you can accomplish that last bit if you just hang around at Barista Parlor enough). By the way, Keys superfans, if you're thinking you can just sign up for Sirius now, the rules say the contest is "OPEN ONLY to active SiriusXM subscribers (self-paid or an introductory trial) since April 10, 2014."

We're also told that The Black Keys will not only play material from their forthcoming Turn Blue (out May 13 via Nonesuch), but also older-school cuts. Get yourself in the mood by pumping "Turn Blue," watching the televangelical "Fever" video, or streaming the entire record via iTunes' "First Play" series.
