I know what you're thinking: A music video for Clear Plastic Masks' "So Real"? Didn't we see that over a year ago? Well, yes, technically, CPM dropped their "So Real" vid back in 2013, and at the time I called the song "a scuzzy, reckless, blooze-bolstered rock 'n' roll number (which reminds me at least a bit of Thee Oh Sees' brand of pulsing, balls-out psychedelia)." But in celebration of their forthcoming debut LP Being There (out May 27 via Serpents and Snakes), the Masks and director Joshua Shoemaker have cut together a new version of "So Real," and you can watch it above. It's got all the hallmarks of a groovy, insouciant rock 'n' roll vid: travel shots, live footage, arm wrestling, fireworks and trashcan vomiting. A lot of the action takes place in drummer Charlie Garmendia's native Dominican Republic. Give it a look.
