Zeitgeist is University School of Nashville's annual music fundraiser — an event that we've described in the past
as being "put on by USN students to raise money for their student council to fund everything from student clubs and organizations to charities like UNICEF." It's an event that's been ongoing since the early '90s and lists PUJOL, Kopecky Family Band and The Weeks among its alumni. Zeitgeist 2014 is happening tomorrow, and will feature a wide array of many of Nashville’s notable up-and-coming acts, as well as some very promising newbies. Zeitgeist 2014 will see performances from over 20 bands — some of which have played the festival in years past, others of which have yet to play a show to date — on four stages.
The lineup for Zeitgeist is an eclectic one. Performers range from lo-fi punkers like Dirty Dreams, Study Hall and Dogs of Oz to folkier acts like Honey Locust and Sun Seeker and indie-pop rockers Staying for the Weekend. The event will also feature visuals from Dig Deep Light Show. Zeitgeist takes place from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., and cover is $10 at the door.
Head after the jump to hear tracks from some of the bands playing this year's Zeitgeist.
Update from the folks at USN: "Just a friendly reminder that Zeitgeist is all-ages school event put on for the benefit of 18&U performers and fans. USN is an alcohol, tobacco, and substance-free campus."
