For most people, it takes two or three days over the holidays, tops, before the close quarters make you consider attacking family members with the flatware. Eisley, a Texas-based five-piece consisting of four siblings and a cousin, has been touring since it formed in 1997 — and amazingly, no acts of violence have been reported. And just like any family band, they have that familial intuition of spooky, tight harmonies for their indie rock/pop melodies. Nashville is stop No. 1 for a 17-city tour supporting their most recent album Currents, which has plenty of critics wetting their rolling chairs in praise of its experimental moodiness. Weird is good, and just like you over the holidays, Eisley gets weird as a family.
Merriment will open tonight's show at Exit/In, which starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $15.
