Lana Del Rey to Play the Ryman May 2

2012’s favorite enigmatic, sultry faced, smoky throated breakout chanteuse Lana Del Rey (who you undoubtedly recall had one of the most infamous SNL debuts since Elvis Costello, but for radically different reasons, resulting in one of the sight-gaggiest, most hilarious social media memes of all time) is set to make her Nashville debut at the Ryman on May 2.

While modern-day celeb-on-arrival Del Rey has never played Nashville before, she did record here (reportedly), cutting her forthcoming attempt to evade sophomore-slump status, Ultraviolence (which is actually the singer’s third record, but second one that matters), with Dan Auerbach at The Black Keys bro’s Music City studio Easy Eye Sound.

That makes both the timing and location of this Ryman appearance especially fitting, as Del Rey recently told fans she’s eying a May 1 release date for Ultraviolence, potentially making this a de facto release show for the record, which the singer described as “so dark it’s almost unlistenable.” So with that in mind, fans here in the ‘Ville can likely get a live listen to the new tracks at the show, in addition to vintage Del Rey favorites like “Born to Die” and “Video Games.” Tickets are $39.50-$49.50 and go on sale Friday, March 14, at noon right here.
