If Sunday night’s Grammy extravaganza of freakazoids and weirdos taught us anything, it’s that musicians need actors around to glamor up the proceedings a little. Fabulous Hollywood stars of Talent and Renown are surefire tools to get your little music project a little mainstream recognition. Plus, obviously, the more legitimate the star you can pull, the more legitimate you are as a musician! You can be like, "See, Danny Aiello is a fan!"

Check out some hot examples below:

Fatboy Slim, “Weapon of Choice”

Every Movie I’ve Seen With Christopher Walken:
Annie Hall
A View to a Kill
Batman Returns
Wayne’s World 2
Pulp Fiction
Blast from the Past
Sleepy Hollow
Catch Me if You Can
(barely remember that film, don’t remember him in it at all)

Moby, “Natural Blues”

Anyone else watch the recent Lifetime Lizzie Borden movie Christina Ricci starred in? I give it 10/10 for set design, 4/10 for costumes, 7/10 for incest allusions, 9/10 for pear propaganda (Ctrl+F “pears”, it is hilarious) and a rollicking 10/10 for smashed-in faces.

(Ha, Moby.)

Elton John, “I Want Love”

Here we have Robert Downey Jr., currently one of the most famous action stars in the world. But this video is from 2001 — we’re deep in the throes of image rehab for him right now. This is post-Bowfinger, pre-Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. What was RDJ actively up to in 2001? Ally McBeal, a show I was unaware made it into the 21st century until today’s research. Never forget.

These are but a few. What is YOUR favorite music video with an actor in it? Is it a Green Day video? An Aerosmith video? A Paula Abdul video? Share.
