Musical-Costume-Style Benefit Show With Clear Plastic Masks and More Friday at FooBar

The show announcement that came in yesterday suits us to the proverbial "T": bands we like, playing at a place we like to go, benefitting a good cause, and it's even not on a school night. Jonathan Davis, usually the drummer for Majestico (who recently announced their forthcoming full-length via ATO), is starting up a cancer foundation, and a slew of our favorite locals are rallying behind him to help fill his non-profit's coffers with an evening of short sets at FooBar.

"Yeah, I like those guys, but I've already seen 'em a dozen times," we can hear you say. Fret not, because there's also a cool kicker: Each of the bands will be covering songs originally performed by another group on the show. If we read that bill right, that means Clear Plastic Masks will be playing Ranch Ghost tunes, Ranch Ghost will be ghostily ranchifying Oh Dang Lo Mein numbers, Oh Dang Lo Mein will become Chrome Pony for the night, Chrome Pony will gallop through Natalie Prass' catalog, Ms. Prass and band will venture into Majestico's psychedelic swamp, and Majestico will complete the circle by channeling Clear Plastic Masks. I am, he is, you are, he is, I am me, and we are all together, no? Yes. Got it? Good.

The show will start at 9 p.m. on the money, and a minimum donation of $5 will get you in the door.
