According to a Facebook post by Texas-based DJ and Price family friend/spokesman Bill Mack, famed country singer Ray Price has died at the age of 87 following a battle with pancreatic cancer. From Mack's post:

[Price's wife] JANIE JUST CALLED ME:
RAY PRICE LEFT FOR HEAVEN AT 4:43 PM CENTRAL TIME. HE WENT IN PERFECT PEACE. DETAILS LATER. JANIE AND THE FAMILY SO GRATEFUL FOR YOUR PRAYERS. RAY'S BODY WILL BE RECEIVED AT RESTLAND FUNERAL HOME IN DALLAS.

This news comes on the heels of premature reports that Price died over the weekend.

Price — a onetime friend and roommate of fellow country star Hank Williams — was known for his vocal range and for songs including "Release Me," "For the Good Times," "You're the Best Thing That Ever Happened to Me" and many more. He spent much of his career in Music City, but died in hospice care in his home state of Texas.
