What do Harry and the Hendersons star John Lithgow, on-air-colonoscopy vet Katie Couric and Nashville rockers The Black Keys have in common? The answer is TV's Stephen Colbert’s colon.
Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney took another foray into comedy last night, returning to The Colbert Report, where in 2011 they competed against Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig in a “Sell-Out Off.” This time the duo vied against John Lithgow and Katie Couric to act as the host’s celebrity guest proctologists in “Stephen Colbert’s November Sweeps Prostacular,” a bit riffing on Today hosts Matt Lauer and Al Roker’s recent Nationally televised prostate exams.
“Stephen, a smooth prostate the size of a walnut, that’s music to our ears," Auerbach told Colbert, before the band ultimately lost out to Lithgow.
