Pile w/Gnarwhal, Roadblock and Nameless Cults Tonight at The Stone Fox

With the leaves changing and the weather getting cooler, it’s high time for a ride through the valley of fist-pumping, sweat-dripping, head-banging guitar rock. Tonight’s trip comes courtesy of Boston’s Pile, who unleash a mutant post-everything pop beast that stalks the land on grungy, doom-coated appendages.

Joining them is a trifecta of locals, including Gnarwhal, who deliver pop-infused screamo-math-rock at speeds that almost guarantee whiplash for careless heshers. We’re pumped about their forthcoming release, which piqued our interest even more than usual because it’s a split 7-inch with local MC The Prophet Nathan. The recently formed Roadblock, featuring members who are moonlighting from several garage-experimental groups, already impresses us out of the gate with their sunny multi-guitar noise assault, the offspring of Sister Ray and Happy Jack. And speaking of screamo — if it’s not your thing, be happy that Nameless Cults write short songs.

Tonight's show at The Stone Fox starts at 9 p.m. and costs $5.
