Phantogram Filming a Video in Nashville, Playing Wednesday at Marathon

The East Coastal trippy-hoppers known as Phantogram are scheduled to play at Marathon Music Works on Wednesday — here's a Critic's Pick I wrote about that — and word "on the street" is that the duo is in Nashville as I put fingers to keyboard, and that they're a few days into the process of shooting a video here.

Based on this video posted to Instagram by model and apparel functionary Rachel Ruff — it's embedded after the jump — said video will feature someone in a dress made of VHS tape that is blown about rather wildly by a fan.

I emailed the band's publicist and asked, "Is Phantogram filming a video in Nashville?"

"Yes," replied Phantogram's publicist.

Guessing by the brevity of the reply, that's all Phantogram wants us to know right now. ("But not at the show," the publicist added in a followup. Sorry, fans who wanted to briefly appear in a crowd shot.) Guessing by IG tags, the video is for the excellent new single "Black Out Days" and will also feature at least one golden lady and a wolf.
