Had he not passed away last year, today would mark the 78th birthday of Cracker Barrel founder and Tennessee native Dan Evins. Hey man, some weeks prove more challenging than others when it comes to digging up a round-up theme. And anyway, don't act like you haven't had the time of your life at a C-Barrel at least once. Oh, that reminds me: Ask me about my Cracker Barrel/mushrooms story some time when we're not on the Internet. It's a good one.

So anyway, shows. A lot of good ones this weekend, as a matter of fact. Tonight you're looking at: Danzig at Marathon; Bully's 7-inch release with PUJOL at The Stone Fox; Allen Toussaint down at Franklin Theatre; The Lonely Wild with Honey Locust at Exit/In; The Wild Front, Shy Guy, Penicillin Baby and Churchyard at The 5 Spot; and more. Tomorrow you've got: Pretty Lights' Illumination with Danny Brown, Wick-It and more at Greer Stadium; Lindi Ortega at The High Watt; the first night of The Lumineers' three-night stand at the Ryman; Ponychase with El El and the triumphant return of The Non-Commissioned Officers at The Stone Fox; Musicians' Corner early at Centennial (2 p.m.) with Caitlin Rose and more; and plenty more. Have a look at the rest — compiled by interns Cory "Biscuits" Woodroof and Wil "Gravy" Herrmuth and music listings editor Adam "Grandpa's Country Fried Breakfast" Gold — after the jump. Let us know what we missed, and have yourselves a Southern-fried weekend.
