The Sufis' 'No Expression' Is Good and ... Creepy [Fresh Vid]

For a town whose local-rock scene seems to embrace all things psychedelic- and garage-oriented, The Sufis sure are a well-kept secret. Consider their tune "No Expression" — it's a sort of Eastern-tinted, Revolver-era-style, psychedelic, existential groover with a video to match. Said video — which was directed by local dude James Cathcart and can be seen above — debuted today via Noisy and features appearances from local musicians/actors Chris Crofton (of The Alcohol Stuntband and the Cream's own The Chris Crofton Show) and Hailey Collier (formerly of BF/GF Sex). As you'll see, the pair seems to have some trouble expressing any emotion other than extreme, puppet-like, stiff-faced glee. Good concept for a video — especially one for a song called "No Expression" — even if it does give me panicky feelings.

The Sufis' Inventions will be released via Ample Play and Burger Records Aug. 5. Like The Sufis.
