By now, you're probably familiar with the scuffle that happened last Thursday night/Friday morning outside Layla's Bluegrass Inn. If not, check out the details in D. Patrick Rodgers' report from this week's print edition, which includes comments from Nashville Musicians Union head Dave Pomeroy and Blackfoot Gypsies frontman Matthew Paige — the latter of whom was one of three individuals arrested at the scene. Photographer Jeffrey Marcom, who shot a video that adds fuel to the controversy surrounding the incident, faced multiple charges and ultimately pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor drug charge.

A concerned group of locals, headed by Marcom's friend Beatriz Zamora, has launched a fundraising campaign to help defray Marcom's legal expenses. A benefit show has also been booked, with 100 percent of the proceeds earmarked for the fund. Initially conceived as a house show, the gig has been moved to Cannery Row, where it will occupy both Mercy Lounge and The High Watt on Monday night, coinciding with the Adam Ant show downstairs in Cannery Ballroom. Eleven bands will play 20- to 30-minute sets — among them Blackfoot Gypsies as well as Kim Logan, Matthew Paige's girlfriend, whose car was the one being ticketed when this whole thing went down, and whose band includes drummer Gaelen Mitchell, also arrested at the scene.

Doors open at 8, the show starts at 9, and the minimum donation is $10. Free pizza and energy drinks will be on hand, and merch supporting the cause will be on sale. Full schedule after the jump.
