The buses will run their normal routes (covering the area between the Farmers' Market and The Gulch; visit the MTA for details), and will be free of charge, as always. However, the players are donating their time to raise awareness of and collect donations for Notes for Notes, a Santa Barbara, Calif.-based nonprofit that builds and operates fully functional recording studios, called Music Boxes, in conjunction with Boys and Girls clubs. After success on the West coast, the organization chose Nashville as the first home for a franchise operation, founding satellite Music Boxes on the north and south sides of town. Recording gear may be getting cheaper all the time, but Notes for Notes and the Music Boxes make sure that kids in need can access to both the gear and a supportive, supervised environment to express themselves, free of charge.
Artist additions for the festival are in the works, but take a peep at the full list as of press time after the jump.
