Well, here we have the first Cream post ever to be filed under the "Fresh Video Game" tag, and it doesn't even come our way courtesy of The Protomen! Trickily monikered local 11-piece neo-R&B ensemble Kansas Bible Company released their LP Hotel Chicamauga back in November, and one of the songs on said long-player is a brassy blast of pop by the name of "Jesus the Horse Thief." Inspired by that song, KBC and Dream-Bot have released an 8-bit video game of the same name.

The gameplay is pretty simple — it's a running game not terribly unlike, say, Pitfall!, wherein the objective is to make it to the end of the course without being killed by obstacles like cacti, pink elephants and water hazards. You can play as "The Horse Thief" or as any one of Kansas Bible Company's 11 members, and "Jesus the Horse Thief" (the song) plays all throughout, decreasing in volume as your health decreases. On my first go-round, I earned 527 points. Is that good? Terrible?

Anyhow, a novel idea, and a well-designed little game (props to Dream-Bot's Michael Neumann on that). Stream all of Hotel Chicamauga below, or purchase it at Kansas Bible Company's Bandcamp page for $5 ($8 for CD, $15 for vinyl).
