As we noted a handful of times (one, two, three, four times, to be precise), local songstress Beth Cameron and her Forget Cassettes released her latest album, O Cursa, in three separate installments. While you can already stream and/or purchase all three parts of O Cursa via Forget Cassettes' Bandcamp page, the LP (out via local indies YK Records and Theory 8) will debut on vinyl this Saturday, April 6, when Cassettes play Mercy Lounge along with fellow indie-rocking chanteuses/Cream faves Torres and Tristen. "The vinyl will be available at the show," Cameron tells the Cream, and April 9 "is the official release date."
In advance of O Cursa's official release, Forget Cassettes have been so gracious as to allow the Cream to debut the brand-new video for "Lady Lazarus." The video, which you can see above, was directed by Andy Snyder and shot at familiar Rock Block haunt Exit/In. The tune itself (featured on O Cursa II) is a brooding, throbbing, industrial- and post-rock-informed blast of dark goth pop. If you're the Vimeo type rather than the YouTube type, watch the video here or after the jump. Tickets to Saturday night's show are available via this link. And keep your eyes trained on the Cream this week — we'll have another exclusive related to Saturday night's show coming your way by week's end.
