Yes, you read that headline correctly: Every pop-culture jester’s favorite love-to-hate cult-hip-hop punch line, Insane Clown Posse, will bring their Mighty Death Pop Tour to Nashville on Friday, May 24. Even more shocking, the Detroit duo's dark carnival makes its Music City debut at, of all places, the Ryman Auditorium.
“I’ve never heard of no Hyman Auditorium before, but me and my homie Shaggy 2 Dope are down to spit rhymes, throw Faygo and kick it with our Juggalo family in Nashville at any grand ol' shithole that will have us,” ICP Mouthpiece Violent J said in a press release sent the Scene’s way this morning, which promises the tour will “leave venue after venue in rubble after [ICP] brings the house down” in every “clown town” they hit.
“Yo, our show in Knoxville is gonna be dope,” Shaggy 2 Dope vows of the Nashville appearance.
According to the release, this first-ever Gathering at the Mother Church will feature Juggalo Championship Wrestling, a Faygo dunking booth, a Faygo wet T-shirt contest, a pageant to crown Miss Juggalette Tennessee and a limited edition … wait for it … Hatchet Show print for sale, all in the auditorium lobby. Additionally, Ron Jeremy will host the show and Vanilla Ice opens, performing his “weed-rap classic” Mind Blowin’, in its entirety.
The announcement also tells fans to expect secret special guests from the Nashville Juggalo family. No word yet on whether that means Jack White and JEFF the Brotherhood, but who else could it be? Haystak? Stitch Mouth?
Tickets for this psychopathic hoedown at the House Country Music Built are $32-$40 and can be purchased here. "Don’t sleep on this shit, Homies!” the release advises.
