Nashville newcomer Winston Yellen and his lush, pensive indie-folk project Night Beds have been on their grind lately. As you may recall, Pitchfork recently offered the Beds' debut full-length Country Sleep for streaming in its entirety; Night Beds played an in-store yesterday at Grimey's, and the record is out today via Dead Oceans (buy it here or here or here).
As you can see above, Night Beds recently performed their tune "Ramona" in the gorgeous Studio A at Belmont’s Ocean Way Nashville Recording Studios, and Cream contributor Seth Graves shot it. The Beds' vocal-centric arrangements are — as I previously noted — somewhat reminiscent of folk- and country-rooted indie outfits like Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver and Phosphorescent. Yellen's range as a singer is really on display here, so go ahead and give that performance a look. Also, tune into Late Night With Jimmy Fallon this Friday, Feb. 8, when Night Beds will appear as the musical guests. On their grind!
