It was reported earlier this week that hip-hop artist Rick Ross canceled his Maybach Music Group's two scheduled appearances in North Carolina this weekend due to threats from an N.C. chapter of the Gangster Disciples gang. While the Dec. 9 MMG tour stop in Nashville was initially reported as still being a go, the Scene received word this afternoon that the Music City concert has now been canceled as well. From a press release sent by concert promoters Live Nation:

The Maybach Music Group tour concert scheduled to play at Bridgestone Arena on Sunday, December 9 has been cancelled. Tickets can be refunded at point of purchase. Tickets purchased by phone or online will be automatically refunded.

For more information go to www.livenation.com.

While there's still an active event link for tomorrow's show on Live Nation's site, the Ticketmaster link does indeed reaffirm the show's cancellation. As reported by MTV, Ross has now canceled a total of 11 tour stops due to what a Ross representative described as an "apparent lack of organization and communication on the part of the tour promoter."
