* All right, so this isn't exactly a music video. But it features Jasmin Kaset's song "The Salesman" in its entirety, and it's an eye-catching and wonderfully shot clip. So fuck it, we ain't making no apologies. The local Sideshow Sign Co. is run by Kaset's Aussie expat hubby, Luke Stockdale, and in the above Logan Cook-shot video, you can see Stockdale and Kaset producing their popular French periodic table print. Also featured in the vid are the fine folks of Grand Palace Silkscreen, including Glossary member (and one of my Top 5 Favorite Local Bassists) Bingham Barnes. Gorgeous song, fascinating video — and perhaps not the sort of thing you'd expect from one-half of Birdcloud, am I right? Dig it.
* And because why not, Music City Shake Down is still going strong. For those who still aren't hip to MCSD, it's a public-access program featuring pantomimed performances from local artists of all stripes. Recent performers include shambolic, myth-shrouded, psychedelic longtime local luminary Dave Cloud, punky, snot-nosed noise rockers Deluxin' ("Street Smart [PB&J]" is a highlight) and the forever-tongue-in-cheek, armed-to-the-teeth-with-chops live hip-hop outfit The Greater Good. Given the costumes, some of these segments were obviously filmed in October. But hey, it's always Halloween in your heart or whatever, or not. See a whole slew of those appearances after the jump.
