Today, Spinner premiered “Ok Ok,” the latest track from Kings of Leon bassist Jared Followill and MONA singer Nick Brown’s collaborative side project Smoke and Jackal. The duo’s debut EP (creatively titled
EP1) drops next Tuesday, Oct. 16, but you can hear “Ok Ok” right now, right
here.
Consistent with the two tracks the band previously previewed, “Ok Ok" is an Edge-y-as-in-U2-ish neo-dream-poppy jam that pairs the powers of Brown’s to-alpines-aspiring, Jeff Buckley-inspired yearning vocal wailage with Followill’s trademark, high-on-fretboard, counterpunctal, lead-bass riffage. "It's a grower," Followill told his Twitter followers.
Dig it.
