Y'know, it's not always easy being the lone Aerosmith defender on this blog. Actually, it's almost impossible, so I'm not even going to try — I love Aerosmith, and fuck you if you don't. And that goes double for Steely Dan fans. Anybody that discovered masturbation and MTV in the early '90s owes Aerosmith a debt of gratitude for all that sweet Silverstone fap material they provided during those formative years. Also, the 'Smith has made some damn fine records — and a least a couple "done with mirrors," if you catch my drift. And even if the past 15 years haven't always seen the band in top form — unless the top form we're discussing is "Crazy Uncle" — I'm still a fan, whether or not rock-crit groupthink demands otherwise. I also think Grizzly Bear sucks and the new Animal Collective album is complete garbage, so it's not like this is the first time I've fallen out of lockstep with my colleagues.
With that, I bring you the grand news that the Bad Boys from Boston — whose Music From Another Dimension will drop Nov. 6 via Columbia — are rolling their Global Warming Tour into Bridgestone Arena on Thursday, Dec. 13, with special guests Cheap Trick. Tickets ($45-$145) go on sale Monday, Sept. 24, at 10 a.m. via this link. Wooderson and I will be rolling up to Houston to grab tickets if you want ride with us. There's a promo video. See it after the jump.
