As you no doubt gleaned from Edd Hurt's fine feature in this week's Scene, tomorrow marks the release of Nashvillian Ben Folds and his Ben Folds Five's first studio LP in 13 years, and tonight, they'll play the Ryman. Well, the reunited dork-kings of quirky piano pop have a brand-new and characteristically dorkily charming video for their tune "Do It Anyway." In addition to cameos from Rob Corddry, Anna Kendrick and Nerdist's Chris Hardwick, "Do It Anyway" features a blast from your childhood: several of the Fraggles from Jim Henson's Fraggle Rock. As a matter of fact, Folds appeared on today's Nerdist Podcast with Hardwick, in which they chatted about shooting the video, Hall and Oates and loads more.
Anyway, as Hardwick puts it, "Do It Anyway" is "friggin' catchy" and "an old kind of Paul Williams-y, piano riffy, upbeat, Fraggle-y sort of a song." So go ahead and enjoy the Phil Hodges-directed video above.
