Great news, people! The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, which I’m guessing you’ve heard of before, announced the dates for its twelfth annual installment. They are June 13-16, 2013.
That officially confirms dates Nashville Convention and Visitors Bureau chief Butch Spyridon leaked to the Scene earlier this year. It also marks the first time in years that Bonnaroo, which takes place in neighboring Manchester, Tenn., 65 miles southeast of Nashville, will not overlap with the CMA Music Festival. CMA Fest 2013 will befall LP Field and surrounding venues downtown June 6-9.
"[CMA] gobbles up most of the hotel rooms and airline seats," Spyridon told the Scene in June. "So we're not able to maximize the benefits from Bonnaroo. ... A lot more could come out of Nashville if it wasn't already tied up, both in materials and manpower."
Like I said, good news, AMIRITE?
Bonnaroo will announce ticket pre-sale information in November, with a full lineup announcement to follow in February. I know that seems like one long wait followed by another long wait, but you can kill 43 seconds of it by watching the latest Bonnaroo promo clip above. (Note: Must love dogs.)
