Dan Auerbach and JEFF the Brotherhood Get Day Drunk and Talk Hypnotic Nights

Posted by on Mon, Aug 13, 2012 at 8:00 AM

The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach and JEFF the Brotherhood's Jake and Jamin Orrall recently sat down with Noisey, Vice's music channel, to talk about the making of JEFF's Auerbach-produced Hypnotic Nights. I won't spoil too much for you — especially not the final outcome of the "hypnotic/spiritual" tally — but the highlights include the trio's "energy spectrum chakra rituals," kambucha, "ancient herbal remedies," man musk, Nana and Bah-Bah's beautiful old desk, goddamn sewing-needle tattoos, "Blackbird," "Fly Away" and sore nipples. Watch the whole thing above.

Personally, I don't know if I've come away from watching this thing knowing more or less about Auerbach and the Orralls' recording process, but I definitely feel at least a little bit day-buzzed by association. Happy Monday!
