Here's some exciting news to brighten your Friday: Tropicalia living legend Gilberto Gil will play Nashville's Schermerhorn Symphony Center on Nov. 5. That's the same night Snow Patrol (Coldplay Lite, if you can believe that) and Noel Gallagher (a guy who was in a band that wasn't as good as Blur) are doing their pasty, British thing blocks away at the Ryman. And if you're thinking about going to see Snow Patrol over Gilberto Gil ... well, God help you, that would be a terrible decision that you'd have to live with for the rest of your life. Tickets (on sale and available here) are $29-$74, but the price you will pay with your soul if you miss this is far greater.
