Nashville Cream's Sixth Anniversary Party Aug. 25 at Mercy Lounge and The High Watt; Buy Tickets Online for a Chance to See Archers of Loaf for Free

Since former Cream honcho and predecessor to my predecessor Tracy Moore dropped the first Nashville Cream post on Aug. 23, 2006, our little blog has seen 7,275 blog posts and 50,243 comments. We've celebrated our birthday five times — at Third Man Records, Exit/In, Mercy Lounge, Mercy Lounge and Mercy Lounge, in reverse-chronological order — and this year, we'll return to the first venue that embraced our ever-blogging asses. On Aug. 25, 2012, we at Nashville Cream will celebrate our sixth birthday with a blowout at Mercy Lounge and their next-door stage, The High Watt, featuring Natural Child, PUJOL, Sparkle City DJs and more at Mercy Lounge and Wild Cub, Future Unlimited and the Y2K Dance Party at High Watt. There will also be treats, a photo booth, free posters and prize giveaways, plus one more band TBA. Tickets are $8 — one ticket will get you into both rooms — and available at this link.

But want to hear about the for-a-limited-time sweetest plum? You know how titans of '90s indie rock Archers of Loaf are playing Mercy Lounge on Aug. 18? Well, if you purchase tickets to the Cream party, you'll be entered to win a free ticket to the Archers show — two rad rock 'n' roll shows for the price of one! And by the way, we're sitting on more than just a handful of Archers tickets. I won't say how many (ahem, double-digits), but if you purchase Cream Party tickets right now, you're looking at some pretty good odds.

As you'd expect, there are links all over the place — on Mercy's site, on The High Watt's site and, of course, on Facebook. If you're the RSVPin' type, go ahead and get on that. More details to come!
