It's not every day you see a three-minute music video get its own 30-second trailer. But hey, Third Man Records founder-slash-recording artist Jack White seems to have a rather intuitive knack for generating hype, wouldn't you say? Anyway, speaking of hype, here it is: White's Hype Williams-directed video for "Freedom at 21," the third single from JW's Blunderbuss. I'd say the "F @ 21" vid has more of a discernible, straight-ahead plot than those of "16 Saltines" or "Love Interruption," what with its prison break, high-speed chase and ... sexy, video-vixen-humping-guitar-solo sequence. Ahem.
Make it through to the end and you'll see a cameo from a certain mega-cool ginger. Wait for it. OK, OK ... I can't not spoil it. It's Josh Homme. Seeing as how JW and JH have shared a bandmate and done a collab or two — not to mention the fact that the desert is Homme's turf — I'm not particularly surprised. Oh, and recording nerds: White just did an interview with Electronic Musician in which he talks about mastering his record without using compression, so go ahead and gobble that one up.
