* It wasn't so long ago that the Black Cab Sessions folks popped into Nashville to film a bit of the local talent — and we found our way around some international-firewall bunk in order to watch the vids that resulted (not once, but twice). And it was even, um, less long ago that witchy vamps The Black Belles gave us a weird little tour of Nashville. Anyway, the Belles may not have made it on camera when the BCS crew was here in Music City, but while they were on a recent across-the-pond jaunt, the pallid songstresses managed to slip inside the ol' Black Cab and play their "What Can I Do?" Watch that above or at the BCS site.
* Familiar with the locally based Jeffery Drag Records? They've put out roughly a dozen tapes and 7-inches from a hearty little handful of rock 'n' rollers, and they have plenty more in the works. In fact, they'll celebrate the release of a tape from Useless Eaters and The Hussy this Friday at The End. They also have a summer 2012 sampler that you can download for free via their Bandcamp page. It features tracks from psych, glam and punk rockers including Majestico, Bad Cop, Ranch Ghost, Useless Eaters, PUJOL, Natural Child and more. Fresh tracks, dig it. (Thanks for hipping us, WOTT.)
* And finally, who was at Mystery Twins' release show at The High Watt about a month ago? Don't lie to me. I was there taking names, and I don't see you on the attendance sheet. Well, Stephen "Goose" Trageser of Bucket City Mobile was there with his camera, and he got some pretty primo footage of the Twins playing "Love Is Strange" — a Mickey and Sylvia cover and the titular tune from their debut EP. Have a look at that one after the jump.
